How Clarity Labs works

You upload a CSV of your trades. It reads them and tells you how you behaved — not how you performed. Those are different questions, and only one of them is under your control.

You'll need an account to upload — the free tier never expires, and on it nothing you upload is stored on our servers.

The data assigns the archetype

You don't pick one. Six behavioural measurements are computed from your fills, and whichever pattern dominates is the archetype you get. If it changes, that's because your trading changed.

This is the part most journals get backwards. A journal records what you believe happened. This reads what actually did.

Why you don't get an archetype immediately

Two sessions is a window, not a pattern. Behaviour that shows up once is a state; behaviour that repeats is a trait, and the difference matters enough that we refuse to guess.

Under 3 sessions — no archetype. You'll see your numbers and nothing else. There isn't enough to separate signal from a bad Tuesday.

3 to 14 sessions — provisional. You get an archetype with an EMERGING badge and the session count. The written read deliberately says "in this window" rather than "you tend to", because it can't yet know the difference.

15 sessions and up — established. The badge drops. There's enough history for the pattern to be called a pattern.

The count is your full history for the selected group, not the current view.

Illustrative profiles

The Revenge SpiralerYou don't trade the market. You argue with it. Trades faster, larger, and at worse moments after losses.
The Premature ExiteerYou're brilliant at finding setups. Terrible at staying in them. Winners cut short while losers are given room. Right read, wrong nerve.
The Session HeroYou peak early. Then you give it all back. Sharp in the first hour, fading by the afternoon.
The OvertraderWhen there's no edge, you trade anyway. Activity mistaken for progress.
The Setup SniperYou wait. Then you strike. Then you wait again. Low trade count, high selectivity, above-average win rate.
The Steady HandYou trade without ego. That's rarer than any strategy. Balanced win rate, consistent sizing, no dramatic shifts.

What gets measured

Six scores, each 0–100. Five are problems — higher is worse. One is not.

ScoreDirectionWhat it measures
Revenge sizinghigher = worsePosition size after a loss versus after a win
Revenge frequencyhigher = worseHow much faster you re-enter after a loss than after a win
Premature exithigher = worseWinners held for less time than losers
Session fadehigher = worseMorning win rate substantially above afternoon
Overtradinghigher = worseTrades per day above your own baseline
Consistencyhigher = betterLower P&L variance from trade to trade

A score only appears when there's enough data to compute it honestly. If you see instead of a number, that dimension wasn't measured, and nothing anywhere in the product will make a claim about it.

Note on the Profile radar: it plots every axis so that bigger is better, which means the five "higher is worse" scores are inverted before plotting. A revenge sizing score of 90 appears as a short spoke, not a long one. The raw number is what you'll see everywhere else.

Sample data — Revenge Spiraler. Short spokes at Revenge Sizing and Revenge Freq show inversion: high raw scores plot inward.

Scopes

Four views: Session, Week, Month, All-time.

Everything anchors to your most recent trading day — not today's date, and not your last upload.

  • Session — that single day
  • Week — the Monday-to-Sunday week containing it
  • Month — the calendar month containing it
  • All-time — everything stored

Sample data

So uploading Tuesday's trades on Friday doesn't shift the window. Uploads are how data arrives; they aren't a unit of time.

TIPTradovate exports are auto-detected. NinjaTrader, Rithmic and generic CSVs use manual column mapping on the upload screen.

Behavioral Fingerprint

Free

The algorithm assigns one of six trader archetypes from your fills — not what you think you do, but what the data proves you did. The archetype changes if your trading changes.

TIPNeeds 3 sessions before an archetype appears. Below that you'll see your numbers with no label attached.

AI Behavioral Analysis

Free

A written read of your specific numbers — win rate, profit factor, hold-time asymmetry, the six behavioral scores. Not generic advice. The AI interprets what it measures; it won't comment on a dimension that wasn't computed.

TIPTwo traders with the same archetype get different reads.

Pattern Alerts

Free

Behavioral flags computed from the session you just uploaded. Surfaces patterns — revenge sizing spikes, consistency drops, overtrading — as they appear in the data.

TIPComputed from the current upload, not from stored history.

Behavioral Calendar

Navigator

Every session you've uploaded, laid out by date and color-coded by archetype. Click any day to view session stats or open the journal for that date. Journal dots mark days with pre-session only (ring) or full pre + post entries (filled).

Trading Journal

Navigator

A structured pre- and post-session journal built into the dashboard. Before: rate mental clarity (1–10), tag your emotional state, set your intent. After: log plan adherence, frame the session outcome, note your post-session state. Journal data feeds into Session Debrief and Trader Profile.

A — Nothing yet

Market day ahead — fill your pre-session journal.

B — Pre logged

Come back after the close to log your session.

C — Traded, incomplete

Post-session reflection is due before the day fades.

D — Fully logged

Full session captured.

TIPThe Today card at the top of the dashboard tracks four states: nothing logged yet → pre-session done → traded but incomplete → fully logged. The amber border means post-session reflection is due.

Session Debrief

Navigator

Write what happened in your own words. The AI responds with a behavioral read of that specific session — it references your measured data, not a template.

TIPA checkbox lets you include that day's journal entry in the debrief. It's unchecked by default — if you leave it unchecked your journal is never sent.

Trader Profile

Navigator

Your complete trading identity in one place. Sections: Trader Identity (archetype, win rate, average P&L), Behavioral Evolution (archetype drift over time), Mental Patterns (appears after 5 journalled sessions), Best Self vs Worst Self (appears after 6 sessions with 5+ trades each), and the Behavioral Fingerprint radar.

TIPMental Patterns populates after 5 journalled sessions. Best Self vs Worst Self after 6 sessions with 5 or more trades each.

Best vs Worst Self

Navigator

Splits your sessions into top and bottom halves by profit factor and compares every behavioral metric across them. Shows exactly what changes when you're at your best — and what to watch in your worst stretches. Accessible from your Trader Profile.

TIPNeeds 6 sessions with 5 or more trades each.

Session History

Navigator

Every session you've uploaded, stored. See archetype, win rate, profit factor, and consistency score across all sessions in a single table. Delete individual sessions if you uploaded by mistake.

Archetype change emails

Navigator

If your dominant archetype shifts between your last five sessions and the five before them, you'll get an email the following morning — once, never more than once a week.

TIPOnly fires when both windows have enough data to be sure. Turn it off any time in account settings.

Regime Detection

Expedition

Your behavioral state classified across recent sessions. Tells you whether you're in a consistent phase, deteriorating, or recovering — and what that typically means for the sessions ahead.

Setup Quality Score

Expedition

Ranks which conditions produce your best results. Scores setup types — selective days, high-conviction sessions, emotionally clean trades — and tells you which to keep, reduce, or cut.

TIPNeeds at least 3 days of timestamped trades.

Getting your CSV

Any broker that exports a CSV with a P&L column works. Tradovate's format is detected automatically. NinjaTrader, Rithmic and generic exports work with manual column mapping.

Timestamps matter. Without entry and exit times, hold-time asymmetry, session fade and inter-trade tempo can't be computed — you'll see against those rather than a guess.

Broker groups

Keep separate accounts separate. A prop evaluation and a funded account are different behavioural contexts, and mixing them produces an average that describes neither.

Each group gets its own history and its own archetype.

Your data

Free tier stores nothing. Analysis runs in your browser and no trades reach our database. Enforced server-side, not just in the interface.

Paid tiers store your sessions — that's what makes history and comparison possible.

The written read sends aggregated numbers to OpenAI: win rate, profit factor, hold times, the six scores. No individual trades, no timestamps, no email address, nothing that identifies you.

The Session Debrief sends what you write. If you tick the box to include your journal, it also sends that day's entry — your notes, your clarity rating, your emotional state. The box is unchecked by default, and if you leave it unchecked your journal is never read.

Export — download everything from your account page, any time.

Deletion — email privacy@claritylabs.trade from your account address. Everything goes, within 30 days and usually much sooner. There's no self-service button yet.

Full detail in the Privacy Policy.

Archetype change emails

If your dominant archetype shifts, we'll tell you — once, the following morning, and never more than once a week.

It compares your last five sessions against the five before them, and only fires when both windows have enough data to be sure. Navigator and Expedition only, since it needs stored history.

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can turn it off in your account settings at any time.

Common questions

Does Clarity Labs store my trade data?

On the free tier, no — analysis runs in your browser and nothing reaches our servers. Navigator and Expedition store your sessions so history and comparison work. See the Privacy Policy.

Which brokers are supported?

Any that export a CSV with a P&L column. Tradovate is auto-detected. NinjaTrader, Rithmic and generic CSVs work with manual column mapping.

How often should I upload?

After every session that mattered. The measurements sharpen with history, and the confidence tiers only advance as sessions accumulate.

Why don't I have an archetype yet?

You need three sessions. Below that there isn't enough to tell a pattern from a bad day, and guessing would be worse than waiting.

What does EMERGING mean?

Between three and fifteen sessions, your archetype is provisional. It's what the data shows so far, not a settled conclusion.

Can I delete a session I uploaded by mistake?

Yes. Session History has a delete button on every row, and it's permanent.

What is the AI analysis based on?

Your measured numbers only — win rate, profit factor, hold-time asymmetry, and the behavioural scores. It interprets them; it doesn't invent anything, and it won't comment on a dimension that wasn't measured.

Does upgrading or downgrading affect my data?

Downgrading hides paid features but keeps your history. Upgrading again restores access to everything stored.

How do I delete my account?

Email privacy@claritylabs.trade from your account address. We delete everything within 30 days.

How do I change my email address?

Email contact@claritylabs.trade. There's no self-service flow yet.
